A Message from Kathryn Hood about 

Wellness Counseling at Passages

     I will guide and support you as you work to cope with and/ or resolve the difficult situation you are facing, but that is only one part of Wellness Counseling at Passages. After we have dealt successfully with the issues that brought you to therapy, we will work to improve other aspects of your life. I will not only get you through the hard times, but I will also assist you in enhancing the quality of your life and creating your optimal life style.

      I will guide and support as you work toward balancing your life and developing your potential.  We will work together to set goals in the main areas of your life -  intellectual, emotional, spiritual, physical, occupational, and relational.   

      Wellness Counseling focuses on your strengths. We will explore the areas where you are excelling to discover your strong points and build on those to further develop your potential.  In areas that are weaker, we will list ways we can use your strengths to make improvements and work to balance your life.

     I will help you to stay focused and motivate you to persistently and diligently work toward reaching your goals so that you will create the kind of life you wish to have.

 Kathryn Hood on Goal Setting

     Setting goals in life is extremely important.  We spend a great deal of time planning vacations or weddings or deciding what college to attend, but rarely do we spend time thinking about and planning the kind of life we desire.  If you never think about what you really want in life, make plans, and head in that direction, you may end up disappointed with how your life turns out.  

     Goals strongly increase your chances of having the quality of life you desire by acting as a decision-making compass. To make wise decisions that keep you on the road to success, you merely have to ask yourself,  "Does my choice of action bring me closer to or farther from reaching my goals?"

     Wellness Counseling offers you the opportunity to reflect on your life, look at where you are and where you want to be in the future.
